Emma Wilson-Wild

MSc Sports Injury & BSC Hons Sports Science & Coaching

Sports Injury & Rehabilitation Specialist

Helping adults and children recover from injury, move better and get back to the activities they enjoy.

Emma is a Sports Injury & Rehabilitation Specialist with over 15 years' experience in injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. She holds an MSc in Sports Injury Therapy and a BSc in Sports Science & Coaching, alongside a strong sporting background from her 20-year gymnastics coaching career, developing extensive experience in movement analysis, injury prevention and safe return to sport.

She specialises in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, working with both adults and children, including young people with sports and growth plate injuries. Whether an injury has developed through sport, work, a road traffic accident, gardening or everyday activity, Emma's focus is not only on relieving symptoms, but also on understanding why the problem has developed and what may be preventing recovery.

Emma takes a functional and biomechanical approach, assessing movement patterns, mobility, muscle length, strength and muscular imbalances to identify factors that may be contributing to pain, injury or reduced function.

Treatment is tailored to the individual and may combine hands-on therapy and progressive rehabilitation, including:

● Manual therapy and joint mobilisation

● Soft-tissue techniques (trigger point therapy, sports massage and myofascial release)

● Dry needling

● High-power laser therapy

● Therapeutic ultrasound

● KT taping

● Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training

● Progressive, sport & occupation-specific rehabilitation and return-to-activity programmes

● Injury prevention programmes

Emma's approach is to guide patients through each stage of recovery, restoring strength, movement and confidence, with the goal of achieving full functional fitness and reducing the risk of re-injury.
