Nicola Fleming
Counsellor
Nicola is a counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She works from an integrative counselling approach, drawing on a range of therapeutic models to meet each client’s individual needs. She is also a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) therapist.
She supports clients with a wide range of challenges, including relationship difficulties, parenting struggles, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, depression, OCD, low self-esteem, loneliness, eating disorders, and addiction, among others. In addition to this, she has a strong interest in supporting individuals navigating the challenges associated with neurodiversity. She works collaboratively with each person, tailoring her approach to their individual needs and goals.
Central to Nicola’s counselling philosophy is a strong commitment to compassion and kindness. She provides a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space where individuals feel heard, understood, and accepted. She is dedicated to helping clients explore their emotions, deepen self-awareness, foster self-acceptance, and support meaningful personal growth.
Nicola holds a deep belief in the value of self-discovery and the potential within everyone to support their own mental health with the right tools, enabling a more balanced and fulfilling life. In her words, “Counselling really can be life-changing and a valuable tool to carry with you throughout your life.”
Through her professional training, personal life experience, and her own therapeutic journey, Nicola has developed a broad and adaptable range of skills to support clients on their unique paths. Her initial draw to counselling came from witnessing the positive impact it had on people’s lives during times of adversity—something she continues to see in her work today.
A little about Integrative Therapy and CBT:
CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It helps individuals identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier ways of responding, supporting lasting positive change.
Integrative counselling combines different therapeutic models rather than relying on a single approach. It recognises that each person is unique, allowing therapy to be tailored to their specific needs, experiences, and goals, offering a flexible and holistic approach to wellbeing.
